The mining laboratory in San Juan, located at the Pocito Industrial Park, is part of a strategic objective: to build local analytical capacity and support the growth of Argentina’s mining industry from the province.
From Pocito, GEOMINLAB aims to strengthen the local value chain by contributing technical knowledge and incorporating LIMS technology to ensure end-to-end digital sample traceability.
To operate in accordance with international standards for quality and technical competence, improve turnaround times, and reduce the need to send samples to other parts of the country or abroad, the laboratory is currently implementing ISO 9001:2015 and working toward implementation and accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Pocito: A Strategic Location for Mining
San Juan has a long-standing mining tradition. In addition, the expansion of exploration and the development of new production projects are increasing the demand for specialized technical services.
This location connects GEOMINLAB with the province’s productive, professional, and mining ecosystem.
Within this context, the Pocito Industrial Park was chosen as the site for our laboratory, which has been specifically designed to integrate geochemical, metallurgical, and brine analysis processes.
Developing Local Analytical Capacity
GEOMINLAB will process samples and generate specialized analytical information locally. This will increase response capacity and help reduce the time and costs associated with transporting samples.
The implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) will digitize the chain of custody and ensure end-to-end traceability for every sample. The system links each sample’s identification to its records, processing stages, controls, and results.
Clients will therefore be able to check the status of their samples in real time, from receipt through to the delivery of digital certificates, ensuring the integrity and availability of information throughout the entire process.
A Mining Laboratory in San Juan That Builds Local Capabilities
By choosing the Pocito Industrial Park, GEOMINLAB is establishing a 700 m² facility with the projected capacity to process more than 15,000 samples per month. The project represents an investment of USD 2.5 million, financed entirely with local capital.
Its location in Pocito connects GEOMINLAB with the province’s productive, professional, and mining ecosystem. It also strengthens collaboration with universities, research centers, and government institutions, helping create direct jobs and integrate local professionals, suppliers, and contractors.
From Pocito, with Regional Reach
GEOMINLAB is positioned to become the first privately owned, Argentine-funded integrated geochemical and metallurgical laboratory located in San Juan.
Its establishment in Pocito seeks to support the needs of the mining industry in the province and extend its services to other regions of the country. In doing so, GEOMINLAB will help consolidate San Juan as a hub for knowledge, technology, and analytical services for the mining industry.
